“When your rooster crows at the break of dawn, look out your window, and I’ll be gone”; While traveling I always have at least one Bob Dylan’s song playing, like this one. What’s yours?
Well, I am sure there are many. Of course, I am not here to discuss songs; though we can do it some other time.
So, what’s for now? This is for those hundreds and thousands of entrepreneurs who work without taking breaks.
You must go out, explore and seek more. Refreshment is necessary in order to let your brain run on all the cylinders effectively.
A lot of people keep on asking me how I can travel so often when I have an entire company to run. Listen, you cannot overdrive. In fact, your brain needs downtime, else it will burnout. Besides, when you have so many efficient managers and operational head to look after why would you even worry. Sometimes you got to trust people and leave things upon them to let your company work smoothly. Unless you trust them they will never think it to be their own company either and work accordingly. Here are top 4 reasons why should leaders take vacations;
1. A Clear Mind
Travel takes away all your stress leaving your mind calm and clear. And once you are back you will be completely ready for new challenges. You will be stunned to see the energy in you. That’s travel. It works wonder for people.
2. Your Colleagues will be More Confident
Dependency isn’t good, especially in a work setting. Your time away from the workplace will not only encourage your colleagues’ individual development, but they will be more proactive to work and take care of the company on your behalf.
3. A Leader must Set an Example
Work does come first, but not before you. It is therefore important to encourage the team to take care of themselves plus to maintain a work-family balance. Whether you are traveling alone, with friends or family, it will give you ample time to spend with your closed ones while inspiring and motivating your colleagues to enjoy a balanced life.
4. Meeting New People
Travelling gives you the opportunity to meet so many strangers. And there are a lot of times when you become friends with them. You never know you might find your next clients in them.
So, when you feel too exhausted or simply you need a break, don’t think twice. Just venture out.
